Who will benefit from Psychotherapy?

A wide range of issues can be addressed in psychotherapy...

"Sadness is a poor heart teacher, you’re not alone, we’re all the same.
Running down the road to meet her, palace gate or factory lane.
Joy is not to one confined, neither then is grief and pain.
Water only draws the line, but the earth smells sweeter after rain."
.... Ralph McTell

Many people with a variety of difficulties could potentially benefit from psychotherapy. Whether the issues for exploration are of a profound and long term nature (such as a history of abuse during childhood), or a reaction to here and now difficulties (such as bereavement or the break-up of a relationship), or of an existential nature (who am I? What is my purpose?), psychotherapy can provide the safe environment and relationship in which to work towards some understanding of thoughts and feelings and potentially a sense of acceptance or resolution of the difficulties.

These are just some of the issues I have experience of working with:

  • Depression
  • Confidence and self esteem issues
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Domestic violence
  • Histories of abuse
  • Family difficulties
  • Identity issues
  • Bullying
  • Loss and bereavement
  • Cultural difference
  • Issues around sexuality
  • Pregnancy and fertility issues
  • Anxiety
  • Anger
